I run 7-64 bit so there's no need to remove it at startup.

I haven't tried it with multiple cards inserted at once, but considering Windows sees the slots as different drives, I feel it'd work. I've owned card readers that won't read something that large, so this is very handy. Plus, it reads all my memory cards, including a 64 GB SDXC card. This nifty device saves me from reaching because it's three inches from my mouse pad. To them I say, you gain three USB ports about 2 feet away from whatever you're plugging it into! My case sits behind my monitors and any time I need to plug in my camera to copy photos, or my phone to charge it, I need to stand up, reach over my monitors, and plug it in. Pros: Some negative reviews here dislike this unit because you only gain one USB port: 3 hub ports use 2 on your case. I’m impressed with this and other IOGear products I own as not only does IOGear seem to make high quality functional products that work, they seem to pay attention to product styling (size, shape, colors, etc.) as their products also tend to look good. Overall Review: As an engineer I tend to be very discerning of products I buy, with functionality and reliability being high in my value system. If IOGear would take the center USB port and place it on another side of the product this would assure use of all three USB expansion ports if needed.
Problem is there’s several USB products that tend to have poor “fat” designs around the USB plug, which means often you can’t plug in multiple USB products side-by-side with such close spacing (without perhaps some type of USB extension pigtail cable). All three USB ports are closely spaced on one side of the product, which is actually pretty standard for both computers and USB extenders such as this one. I’ve been looking for such a versatile port extĬons: Only con I can think of is spacing of the USB ports. If the additional USB power is not needed, however (which for most memory cards and flash drives it is not), you do gain the additional two USB expansion slots (reader works fine with just one USB cable plugged into computer). In other words, you have to use two computer ports to get three expansion ports gaining only one additional port, where normally you would use only one computer USB port and gain two additional expansion ports. Included Y-connector USB attaching cable allows a second USB computer plug-in for extra USB power if needed, though this does remove the benefit of an additional USB expansion port. It handles the newer higher capacity memory cards.
Pros: Very versatile port extender/hub having both 3 USB 2.0 ports and a multitude of card reader slots (45-in-1) to handle the most popular memory cards on the market, including both a compact flash (I’ve got an older camera) and a micro SD card reader which tends to be hard to find.
